Jens-Uwe Gordon (born August 13, 1967 in Salinas , California ) is a former German-American basketball player.
He has an American father and a German mother and therefore has two citizenships.
He went to Santa Clara University for four years, where he played as a power forward or as a center and in his last senior year achieved an average of 16.8 points / pS and 8.3 rebounds / pS. At the university he was a teammate of the later German national player Nils Becker .
Then Gordon hit a professional career and was briefly under contract with the NBA club San Antonio Spurs before the 1989/90 season . He then played first in the CBA and in Japan before moving to Europe. Gordon played for several German first division clubs, including Bamberg , Oldenburg , Quakenbrück and Karlsruhe . In addition, Gordon was under contract with clubs in France, Spain and Greece.
In 2007 he retired from active basketball at the age of 40. He then worked as a teacher and basketball coach at a school in his hometown of Salinas.
