Jeremy Reich (born February 11, 1979 in Craik , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current - coach and - functionary , who during his active career, among other things, for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League and for the ERC Ingolstadt has played in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Jeremy Reich began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , in which he was active from 1995 to 2000 for the Seattle Thunderbirds and Swift Current Broncos . During this period he was selected in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft in the second round as a total of 39th player by the Chicago Blackhawks , for which he never played. Instead, the attacker signed on 17 May 2000 as a free agent a contract with the newly formed franchise of the Columbus Blue Jackets for which he in the 2003/04 season, his debut in the National Hockey League announced. He gave a template in nine games. The rest of the time in the Blue Jackets franchise he spent, however, with their farm team Syracuse Crunch from the American Hockey League . By the end of the 2004/05 season , the left shooter was loaned from Syracuse to their league rivals Houston Eros .
On September 7, 2005, Reich was hired as a free agent by the Boston Bruins , for whom he scored two goals and gave three assists in a total of 94 NHL games from 2006 to 2008. In the 2005/06 and 2008/09 seasons , Reich was only on the ice for their AHL farm team Providence Bruins . On July 2, 2009, he signed a contract with the New York Islanders . After a season he returned to the organization of the Boston Bruins and played for their farm team Providence Bruins in the AHL. For the 2011/12 season he moved to the German Ice Hockey League at ERC Ingolstadt .
In September 2012, the Canadian was hired by the Canmore Eagles from the Alberta Junior Hockey League in the role of assistant coach and general manager.
