Jermaine Robinson (born April 10, 1989 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American arena football , American football and Canadian football player. He last played on the position of defensive back for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Career

Robinson attended the University of Toledo from 2009 to 2012 . There he played college football for the Toledo Rockets while studying criminal law . In his first season he played in all 12 games, ten of them from the start. He was able to achieve 58 tackles and each force a fumble and capture. In 2010 he scored 46 tackles and caught his first interception . In his penultimate season, he scored 55 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumble. In his final season he caught four interceptions, two of which he carried back for touchdown . He was elected All- MAC in the position of Free Safety .

After playing one season for the Sioux Falls Storm in the Indoor Football League (IFL), the Ottawa RedBlacks signed Robinson on March 17, 2014 . Initially, he only made it to the practice roster , but was promoted to the main squad on August 7, 2014. In the 2015 season, Robinson was injured in the season opening game and was only able to play again after 135 days on the last day of the regular season . In the 2016 season he was the Starting Strong Safety before he was surprisingly dismissed on September 9, 2016. By then he had been able to achieve 25 tackles and one interception in ten games this season. On September 20, 2016, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Robinson for their practice roster. Here he started in four games during the season. After the season he became a free agent . He had a trial with the Kansas City Chiefs , but he did not get a contract. After he played in the Spring League , which became known through Jonny Manziel's participation , the Sioux Falls Storm signed him again. On April 16, 2018, the Montreal Alouettes signed him . He was released on July 15, 2018, but re-engaged on July 23, 2018. In March 2019, the Alouettes signed Robinson for another two years. He was released on June 8, 2019.
