Jernej Koblar (born September 30, 1971 in Jesenice ) is a former Slovenian ski racer . He started in all disciplines, his greatest successes he achieved in the Super-G .

biography

Koblar began his career with participation in FIS races and in the European Cup . The Slovene achieved his first major successes in the European Cup in the 1993/94 season , in which he finished second in the Super-G classification.

Koblar won his first points in the World Cup on December 18, 1994 with rank 25 in the giant slalom in Val-d'Isère , and in February 1996 he was among the fastest 15 in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . Koblar achieved the best World Cup result of his career on March 11, 1999 with eighth place in the Super-G in the Sierra Nevada , he achieved a second top 10 result with tenth place in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on January 28, 2001. His last World Cup race was the giant slalom of Sölden on October 26, 2003. Overall, the Slovene came in 42 World Cup races in the top 30.

Koblar started at the Olympic Winter Games in 1994, 1998 and 2002 and was the best Slovene several times. He took part in four world championships, the 1997 World Championships in Sestriere being his most successful. As the best Slovene in each case, he reached tenth place in the combination, 14th place in the giant slalom and 16th place in the Super-G. From 1996 to 2002 he won six Slovenian championship titles .

Koblar ended his career in January 2004. He is married to the former biathlete Andreja Koblar .
