Jessica "Jess" Jane Eddie (born October 7, 1984 in Durham ) is a former British rower .

Athletic career

Jessica Eddie began her career in international rowing with sixth place in the quadruple sculls at the Junior World Championships in 2001, and in 2002 she rowed eighth in the same boat class. In 2003 she switched to the two without a helmsman and won the bronze medal at the U23 World Championships . In 2004 she entered the world championships with the four-man without a helmsman and took sixth place. In 2005, she and Anna Bebington won the bronze medal in a pair without at the U23 World Championships. At the 2005 World Championships , she finished fifth with eighth place. After finishing eleventh in uncontrolled two at the World Championships in front of his home crowd in Eton, Eddie returned to the British eighth in 2007 and won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Munich . At her first Olympic participation in Beijing in 2008 , Eddie finished fifth with eighth.

The British eighth also finished in fifth place at the 2009 World Championships , followed by fourth place in 2010 . As in 2007, she won bronze at the World Championships in the pre-Olympic year 2011 . Jessica Eddie remained a member of the British eight even after the Olympic Games, and eighth finished fourth at the 2013 World Championships . In 2014 the British also competed at the European Championships and won silver behind the Romanians. At the 2014 World Championships , the British eight finished as the sixth boat. In 2015, he was fifth at the European Championships and fourth at the World Championships . The British eighth started the 2016 Olympic season by winning the title at the European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel . The US eight continued his winning streak at the 2016 Olympic Games , followed by the British European champions who received the silver medal ahead of Romania.

Jessica Eddie is 1.78 m tall and has a degree in biology with an attached art degree. She began her career at the Durham Rowing Club and later joined the University of London Rowing Club .
