Evgeni Sergejewitsch Salejew ( Russian Евгений Сергеевич Салеев ; English Evgeny Saleev ; born January 19, 1989 in Saransk , Mordovian ASSR , USSR ) is a Russian wrestler . In 2014 he became vice world champion in the Greco-Roman style in the weight class up to 80 kg body weight.

Career

Yevgeny Saleev comes from the Russian republic of Mordovia . He started wrestling as a teenager in 1998, focusing on the Greco-Roman style . So far he has trained at wrestling clubs in Saransk and Podolsk . His trainers were or are Alexander Tarankanow, A. Gluschkow and R. Avjasow. He won there over Rafik Huseinow and Eduard Sargisjan, Armenia, but lost in the quarterfinals to Lascha Gobadze from Georgia.
