Jiří Králík began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of TJ Gottwaldov , for whose senior team he was active from 1969 to 1976 in the first division , the highest Czechoslovak division. The goalkeeper then spent seven years with league rivals ASD Dukla Jihlava , with whom he was Czechoslovakian champions in the 1981/82 and 1982/83 seasons . He himself was named the best goalkeeper in the first division in the 1978/79 season . From 1983 to 1985 he played again for TJ Gottwaldov. In 1985 he received the Zlatá hokejka as Czechoslovak Player of the Year. Most recently, the two-time Olympic participant stood between the posts for the DJK Rosenheim sports association in the ice hockey Bundesliga from 1985 to 1987 , before ending his career at the age of 35.
International
For Czechoslovakia , Králík took part in the junior division exclusively in the U19 European Junior Championship in 1970 , where he and his team won the silver medal. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1979 , 1982 , 1983 and 1985 as well as the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid in 1980 and in Sarajevo in 1984 . He also played for Czechoslovakia at the Canada Cup in 1981 . At the World Championships in 1979, 1982 and 1983 as well as at the Olympic Winter Games in 1984 he and his team won the silver medal and the gold medal at the 1985 World Championships. He himself was elected to the All-Star Team and the best goalkeeper of the tournament at the 1983 and 1985 World Championships.
