Jill Walsh

Jill Walsh (born Jill Seifers , born April 24, 1965 , † December 2012 in Nashville , Tennessee ) was an American pop and jazz singer and songwriter .

Jill Walsh grew up in Portland, Oregon , studied at Berklee College of Music, and then was active in the music scene in New York City. In 2004 she took part in the single Breathe by the synth-pop duo Erasure ; her debut album Jill Walsh was released in 2006. As a jazz vocalist she worked a. a. with Mika Pohjola ( Two for the Road (2008) and Live Jazz on Broadway: The Complete Classic New York Concert , 2009), Kurt Rosenwinkel , Chris Cheek , Jorge Rossy and Michael Kanan. She has taught in the New School and New York University jazz programs . Most recently she lived in Nashville, where she died in early December 2012 at the age of 47.
