Jim Clark (film editor)
Jim Clark (born May 24, 1931 in Boston , England , † February 25, 2016 ) was a British film editor and film director .
Live and act
Clark was active as a film editor since 1956. He worked several times with the director John Schlesinger .
A highlight of his long career was in 1985 when he received an Oscar for editing Roland Joffé's anti-war film The Killing Fields . Two years later he was nominated again for an Oscar, this time for Joffé's successor Mission . For this film he won the BAFTA Award . In 2005 he received the Career Achievement Award from the American Cinema Editors .
In 1966 he made his debut as a director and directed a total of seven films by 1974.
