Jin Ju-dong

Jin Ju-dong (born August 14, 1972 ) is a former North Korean wrestler . He was runner- up in free style flyweight world champion in 1997 .

Career

Jin Ju-dong did not begin wrestling until he was 18 in 1990, focusing on the free style. He was a member of the North Korean Army and a member of the Pyongyang Army Sports Club . His trainer was Hak-Ryong. At a height of 1.61 meters, he competed in the flyweight category, up to 52 or 54 kg body weight.

He first appeared on the international wrestling mat in 1995. He took part in the military world championship that year and won the title there ahead of Namig Abdullajew from Azerbaijan and Sayeed Kolivand from Iran . In 1997 he was Asian flyweight champion in front of Huiniu Ping from China and Gholamreza Mohammadi from Iran. In the same year he achieved the greatest success of his wrestling career, because he became vice world champion in Krasnoyarsk. On the way to this success he defeated Zeke Jones , United States , Roger Ruiu, Canada , Gholamreza Mohammadi and Maulen Mamirow , Kazakhstan . Only in the final he was defeated by the Cuban Wilfredo García .

In 1998 he won the Asian Games in Bangkok, ahead of Behnam Tayebi-Kermani, Iran, Maulen Mamirow and Jung Soon-won, South Korea . This victory was followed by the next at the 1999 World Military Championships in Zagreb , because there, too, he won ahead of Gework Markarjan, Armenia and Ivan Welkow Djorew from Bulgaria . In 2000 he was also the Asian champion in Guilin / China. He referred Mohammed Asslani, Iran, Adchan Achilow, Uzbekistan and Shankar Patol Kripa from India to their places.

In the same year he also took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney . But there he lost his first fight against Namig Abdullajew and could only improve to 9th place with a victory in his next fight over Martin Liddle, New Zealand , according to the unfortunate regulations in force at the time.
