Josef "Jo" Lindinger (born March 3, 1907 in Straubing , † 1995 in Regensburg ) was a German set designer , painter and graphic artist .

Life

Lindinger studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich as a master class student with Emil Preetorius and then went to Regensburg.

From 1930 to 1972 he worked as a set designer and equipment manager at the Regensburg City Theater and also worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist.

His free painting attracted attention in exhibitions in the early 1930s. As a graphic designer, he designed posters, advertising leaflets, catalogs, logos, book covers, medals and certificates for the city of Regensburg, for cultural institutions and for companies.

He designed the play areas and decorations for the Castle Festival in Wörth Castle on the Danube and the Schwarzenburg Festival in Rötz .

From his work in public space, which included frescoes, facade designs and outdoor facilities, the fresco of Sankt Erhard on the facade of the Kolping House, the staircase in the former building school (today University of Regensburg), the facade of the court pharmacy Sankt Emmeram and the open space design in the area of ​​the Philosophical-Theological Faculty on the grounds of the University of Regensburg.
