Joachim Raffert

Joachim Raffert (born March 16, 1925 in Hildesheim ; † September 18, 2005 ibid) was a German journalist and politician ( SPD ). In 1972 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Education and Science .

Life and work

After attending secondary school, Raffert initially completed an editorial traineeship and from 1943 to 1945 took part in the Second World War as a soldier . In 1945/46 he worked as an unskilled worker in the construction industry and from 1946 to 1948 as a puppeteer in a puppet theater. In the meantime he made up his Abitur as an external student in 1947.

Raffert worked as a freelance journalist since 1948 and became an editor in 1953. He worked for newspapers in Einbeck , Hildesheim , Göttingen and Hanover and in 1964 became deputy head of politics at the Hanover press . In addition, he joined the IG Druck und Papier in 1949 .

Act

Raffert joined the SPD in 1949 and became chairman of the local SPD association in Hildesheim. Later he was a member of the education and broadcasting policy committee of the federal party executive.

Raffert was from 1959 to 1968 council member of the city of Hildesheim. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1972. He entered the Bundestag in 1965 on the Lower Saxony state list and in 1969 as a directly elected member of the Hildesheim constituency . In parliament he was chairman of the cultural policy working group of the SPD parliamentary group. On March 15, 1972, Raffert was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Education and Science in the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt . He left office on August 31, 1972.
