Joachim Wagner

Joachim Wagner (born December 24, 1943 in Hamburg ) is a German criminologist and television journalist who worked for ARD .

Life

Wagner attended high school in Hamburg until 1963 and graduated from high school . From 1963 to 1968 he studied law at the Free University of Berlin , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Hamburg . In January 1968 he had his first legal state examination in Berlin and received his doctorate in December 1971 at the Faculty of Law at the Free University Berlin. From 1972 to 1973 he had a study and research stay at Columbia Law School in New York with a scholarship from the DAAD . From June 1974 to March 1979 he was an assistant professor for criminal law at the Free University of Berlin and from March to October 1975 he worked as a scientific advisor in the planning department of the Federal Chancellery .

From April 1979 Wagner was the political editor of the NDR and from June 1987 deputy editor-in-chief of the NDR's main current affairs department and head of the political magazine Panorama and the legal policy department . He was also a freelance employee at Stern , Süddeutsche Zeitung , German General Sunday paper and Time . From 1980 he worked as a presenter and author at NDR.

In May 1987 he was awarded the Journalist Prize by the German Lawyers' Association and in 1992 the Heinz Galinski Prize .

In January 1997 he became head of the ARD studio in London , and in January 2002 he became a correspondent in the ARD capital studio . From July 2006 to the end of 2008, Wagner was the deputy editor-in-chief in the television division and, alternating with Ulrich Deppendorf , moderated the program Report from Berlin .
