Joakim Sjöhage (born September 27, 1986 in Målsryd ) is a Swedish football player . The offensive player won both the Swedish and Norwegian championship titles.

Career

Sjöhage started playing football at Målsryds IF in his hometown. Via Dalsjöfors GoIF he came to the youth department of IF Elfsborg . He made his debut for the club from Borås in 2004 in the Allsvenskan . In the following season he was still a member of the squad and was in the starting line-up for 14 of his 23 season appearances. In the 2006 season he was on the field in all 26 games of the season and contributed to winning the Lennart Johansson Cup as the Swedish national champion with four goals this season . When winning the first Supercup in March of the following year by a 1-0 win over Helsingborgs IF by a goal by James Keene , he sat on the bench, but was not used.

Although Sjöhage was only used irregularly in the course of the first half of the 2007 season , the Norwegian club SK Brann reported interest in signing the young player. In July, he signed a contract valid until 2010 with the club appearing in the Tippeligaen . However, he could not establish himself in the attack of the club and only came to three season appearances. Nevertheless, he won the championship with the club at the end of the season.

In February 2008, Sjöhage returned to IF Elfsborg on loan after regular strikers Keene, Mathias Svensson and Fredrik Berglund were injured in preparation for the 2008 season. As a supplementary player - he played 17 of his 22 season appearances as a substitute - he won the runner-up with the team behind Kalmar FF . After the club then waived a further obligation , GAIS and Trelleborgs FF were interested in a commitment. Ultimately, he moved to Trelleborgs FF, who loaned him until June 2009. Here he knew how to convince, so that shortly before the end of the loan period, the club used a contractually fixed option and committed him to the end of 2011. Under coach Tom Prahl, however, he moved into the second line in his second season for the club and was increasingly only used for the second team. In the first half of the 2011 season, additionally slowed down by a stomach disease, he announced his departure from the club in the summer at the latest when his contract expired at the end of the year. By the end of the season he had only played four games and could not prevent relegation to the second-rate Superettan .

Shortly after the end of the season, in November of that year, the second division promoted Varberg BoIS announced the commitment of Sjöhages for two seasons.
