Jochem "Rosso" Ziegert (born July 25, 1954 in Marburg ) is a former German professional footballer and current football coach. As a coach, he led the Hertha BSC amateurs into the 1993 DFB Cup final .
Career
As a player
Ziegert, who is called "Rosso" because of his red hair, began his career with Sportfreunde Marburg. In 1975 he signed a contract with the Hessen division KSV Hessen Kassel , which he left after a year for the southern second division KSV Baunatal . Ziegert also prevailed in professional football, but was mostly in a relegation battle with Baunatal.
After two narrowly escaped relegation, Ziegert moved to Tennis Borussia Berlin in the 2nd Bundesliga North in the 1978/79 season . In December 1980, he went to league rivals and city rivals Hertha BSC . Successes in his last position as a player were in 1981 reaching the semi-finals in the DFB Cup and in 1982 promotion to the Bundesliga . Due to a torn cruciate ligament, however, he was denied a first division play. In 1983 he officially left the Berlin squad and ended his career as a sports invalid.

From 1992 to May 1997 he was the coach of the Hertha amateurs. In the meantime, in the seasons 1994/95 and 1995/96, he was also assistant coach of the professional team.
