The Jocko River is a 50 km long left tributary of the Flathead River in the US state of Montana .
River course
The Jocko River arises in the Mission Range , a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains , at the confluence of its two source rivers Middle and South Fork Jocko River . It initially flows 5 km to the west. The North Fork Jocko River meets the river from the right. This turns to the southwest for the next 10 kilometers, before gradually turning towards west-northwest. The Jocko River passes the villages of Arlee and Ravalli . The US Highway 93 follows the river from Arlee. The Jocko River finally flows into the Flathead River 800 m northeast of the village of Dixon . The Jocko River flows through Counties Lake and Sanders .
Hydrology
The Jocko River drains an area of 992 km². The mean discharge is 6.6 m³ / s. The highest monthly discharges usually occur with an average of 16.7 m³ / s during the snowmelt in June.
