The Joderhorn ( 3035  . M asl ) is a mountain in the Weissmies group in the Valais Alps . The summit is a little east of the Monte Moro Pass on the border between Switzerland and Italy . At the Joderhorn, the main Alpine ridge , which corresponds to the borderline here , bends from west-east to north. The mountain is known for its view, especially the view of the east face of Monte Rosa .

Climbs

From the Monte Moro Pass, the easiest ascent leads first in an easterly direction over scree and rock ridges to the foot of the mountain. Then keep to the left on the flank north of the northwest ridge. The ascent leads over boulders and rubble and has no paths, individual cairns serve as a guide. Allow about 45 minutes from the pass to the summit.

The easiest way to get to the Monte Moro Pass is from the south, from the mountain station of the cable car just below the top of the pass. Alternatively, access from the north, from Mattmark at the end of the Saas Valley, is also possible. It takes about 3½ hours from Mattmark to the summit of the Joderhorn.

The wall lines on its east and south side show rock with very good climbing quality. The routes leading through these walls have degrees of difficulty between IV and VII. The southeast ridge also offers a good climbing route with good security options, the key point has difficulty V, several points are IV.
