Jodie Kidd (born September 25, 1978 in Canterbury , Kent ) is a British actress , model and television personality.

Life

Kidd's father is the entrepreneur and former show jumper John Edward Aitken Kidd, her mother, Wendy Madeleine Kidd (née Hodge), is the daughter of Sir John Rowland Hodge, an event manager. Kidd has two siblings: her brother Jack Kidd is a polo player , her sister Jemma Kidd (* 1974) married the Earl of Mornington in June 2005.

At the age of 15, Terry O'Neill discovered Kidd in Barbados . She is now an internationally known model.

Kidd was dating the polo player Tarquin Southwell. On September 10, 2005 , after dating for a year, she married internet entrepreneur Aidan Butler at St Peter's Church in Twineham, West Sussex . The marriage lasted only 18 months. From May 2010 to mid-2013 she was partnered with the Argentine polo player Andrea Vianini , on September 5, 2011 they became parents of a son.

In August 2014, Kidd married David Blakeley, a former British Army writer and writer . They separated in January 2015 and were divorced on May 1, 2015.

Since 2015, Kidd has been a co-presenter of The Classic Car Show on British Channel 5 .

Activity as a model

At about 1.87 meters tall, Kidd worked for Chanel , Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld, among others, after being discovered by Terry O'Neill . She briefly advertised products by Chloé and Yves Saint Laurent. She was also featured on the front pages of various magazines. She is currently employed by the Merlin Elite agency.

Kidd is an active polo player and often plays for the Apes Hill polo team in Barbados . In addition, she was a guest or even active as a presenter in many TV programs.

Kidd also co-hosted the Red Bull Air Race World Series with James Cracknell for British Channel 4 . She was also an occasional guest and reporter at GMTV. In 2003 she started the Marie Curie Daffodil campaign to help people with cancer . A year later, she presented the reality show The Ultimate Playboy for Sky One.

As an actress , Kidd was seen in 1997 as Lady of the Lake in Prinz Eisenherz and in 1999 in a smaller role in the British film Mad Cows . She is a regular participant in the Gumball 3000 car race and loves and drives fast cars. In 2003, as a guest on the TopGear car show , she set the record to date on the in-house test track in the inexpensive Suzuki Liana vehicle . In 2014 she made it to the finals of the BBC cooking show Celebrity Masterchef .
