Jody Lee Lipes

Jody Lee Lipes (born January 18, 1982 in Doylestown , Pennsylvania ) is an American cinematographer , director and screenwriter .

Life

Lipes comes from a family interested in film and attended his first video courses in high school. He later studied film at New York University .

From 2003 he took over the camera work for the first short films. In 2009 he made his first documentary, Brock Enright: Good Times Will Never Be the Same , for which he was not only responsible for the camerawork, but also for the script and the direction. The dance film NY Export: Opus Jazz , which Lipes shot together with Henry Joost , was invited to the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2010 .

In the same year he was a cameraman for Lena Dunham's film Tiny Furniture . In 2012, Lipes filmed seven episodes of the Judd Apatow- produced television series Girls , in which Lena Dunham played the lead role. Lipes also directed two episodes of the series. In 2015, Apatow selected Lipes as the cameraman for his film Dating Queen .
