Joe Fiedler

Joe Fiedler (born March 24, 1965 ) is an American trombonist, arranger and composer of the Modern Creative .

Fiedler has been working in salsa bands since the mid-1990s, then also with avant-garde musicians such as Anthony Braxton , Andrew Hill ( A Beautiful Day 2002) or Charles Tolliver . From the 2000s he played a. a. with Chris Jonas ' The Sun Spits Cherries , the Ed Palermo Big Band, Jason Lindner , Kevin Norton , in the formation Fast 'N' Bulbous (with Phillip Johnston ) and the Satoko Fujii Orchestra New York. He also leads a trio with John Hébert and Mark Ferber , with whom he has released two albums, including an Albert Mangelsdorff tribute. In the early 2010s he worked with the Big Sackbut wind ensemble , which also included Ryan Keberle , Josh Roseman and Marcus Rojas . Currently (2017) he led his own quartet ( Joe Fiedler's Stunt Chicken ), with Jeff Lederer (saxophone), Sean Conly (electric bass) and Allison Miller (drums). He currently (2019) plays with Phillip Johnston & The Silent Six.
