Johan Jacobs

Johan Jacobs (born November 9, 1965 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Career

Johan Jacobs graduated from high school in 1986 and studied painting and graphics at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1987 to 1993 . In 1992/1993 he was a master student with Horst Antes .

After graduating, Jacobs settled as a freelance artist in his hometown. Here he runs a studio in the studio house on Wilhelminenhofstrasse in Berlin-Oberschöneweide and regularly takes part in art exhibitions. His works have already been shown in several group and solo exhibitions.

Focus of the artistic work

Jacobs deals with the visual representation of the increasing artificiality of our living environment and the reactions of humans and animals to it. Recurring motifs in his pictures are the horizon, buildings, streets, people, animals and the sun.

The graphic works include linocuts , etchings , lithographs and drawings .
