Hans Koester

Johann Andreas Friederich Köster , called Hans Köster (born August 16, 1818 in Kritzow, today a part of Hornstorf ; † September 6, 1900 in Ludwigslust ) was a German dramaturgical poet, manor owner and member of the Reichstag .

Life

Hans Köster studied philosophy in Bonn, Berlin and Munich until he received his doctorate . Later he lived mostly in Berlin , later in Weimar and as a farmer at Villa Priorsberg near Neuzelle in the Mark. He owned the manor Bagenz in the Spremberg district. He wrote numerous dramas, short stories and collections of poetry, as well as political brochures. Köster was a member of the North German and the first German Reichstag for the constituency Frankfurt 9 (Cottbus-Spremberg) and the Conservative Party .

Koster's wife Louise, b. Schlegel (1823–1905) was a well-known opera singer, his son Hans von Koester the first Grand Admiral of the Imperial Navy.
