Andreas Wolff , also Johann Andreas Wolff , (born December 11, 1652 in Munich , † April 9, 1716 ) was a German painter.

Life

The artist, a son of the little-known painter Jonas Wolff , was court painter to the Bavarian Elector Max Emanuel , created numerous works as court painter for the Freising Prince-Bishop Johann Franz Eckher and was particularly distinguished by his altar paintings. In addition to painting, he also wrote appraisals, provided drafts and made plans for large-scale architectural work. He was mainly active in the old Bavarian, Swabian and Austrian regions. One of his students was Johann Georg Bergmüller .
