Johann August Giesel
Johann August Giesel (born January 14, 1751 in Dresden ; † April 18, 1822 there ) was a German architect and court architect . He was a student of Friedrich August Krubsacius and Jean-François Chalgrin .
He was appointed building inspector by Maximilian von Sachsen in 1783 and had been in the service of Anton von Sachsen as a building and gardening inspector from at least 1797 . Giesel was considered a representative of French classicism in Dresden .
He died in Dresden in 1822 and is buried in the Eliasfriedhof in field C 2-1.

- Draft of the funerary monument for the Chevalier de Saxe (1774)
- Conversion of the Prinz-Max-Palais in the Dresdner Ostra-Allee (new portal, observatory, interior and garden) (1783)
- Redesign of the Secondogenitur garden in the English park style (1783) and the associated reconstruction of the Secondogenitur Palace
- Carefree house in the Lößnitz , today the Oberlößnitz district of Radebeul (1786)
- Reconstruction and expansion of the Bavarian brewery in Friedrichstadt (1789)
- Palace Theater in Teplitz (1789)
- St. Mauritius Church in Wolkenburg (1794–1804)
- Town hall in Teplitz (1806)
- Palace for James Ogilvy, 7th Earl of Findlater in Findlater's vineyard in Loschwitz (1811)
