Johann Büchner (politician)

Johann Büchner , also Johannes Büchner (born July 18, 1756 in Frankfurt am Main ; † October 5, 1834 ibid) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Büchner was a son of the Frankfurt schoolmaster Johann Georg Büchner . After attending the municipal high school , he studied law in Jena and in 1778 settled as a lawyer in his hometown of Frankfurt. In 1789 he became a municipal chancellery, in 1792 a syndic.

Grand Duke Carl Theodor von Dalberg appointed him to the appellate judge at the Schöffen-Appellationsgericht Frankfurt (see court organization in the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt ). After the end of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt , he initially returned to his previous position as in-house counsel and in 1815 became President of the Commission for the Constitution Amendment Act, which drafted the Constitution of the Free City of Frankfurt .

From 1816 Büchner was a senator and aldermen . In 1821 he was elected Senior Mayor . From 1824 to 1833 he was the judge and president of the court of appeal of the Free City of Frankfurt.
