Johann Christoph Albert Moll (born June 25, 1817 in Gruibingen ; † March 14, 1895 in Tettnang ) was a Württemberg doctor and medical historian . He also used the single first name Albert (see his books)

Live and act

Moll studied in Tübingen from 1837 to 1840 and, after completing his doctorate, went to Heidelberg , Strasbourg , Paris and London for further scientific studies . In 1843 he became a district doctor in Neuffen , in 1862 a senior official in Tettnang, where he died in 1895 as a privy councilor.

Moll occupied himself with a. also with epilepsy, and made a living by founding the "Heil- und Bewahranstalt für Epileptische auf der Pfingstweide" in Meckenbeuren and other hospitals.

Moll was one of the first to deal with the history of medicine in Württemberg. His publications appeared mainly in the Medicinisches Correspondenz-Blatt of the Württemberg medical association . In addition, he published essays on local history in the writings of the Association for the History of Lake Constance and its Surroundings , which he initiated , and was its first President from 1868 to 1892.
