Johann Christoph Ludwig Mieg (also Johann Christof Ludwig Mieg ; born April 16, 1731 in Unteröwisheim , † September 3, 1807 in Maulbronn ) was a German Lutheran clergyman . He was abbot , general superintendent and prelate of Maulbronn .

Life

Mieg was the son of Derdingen Prefect Georg Ludwig Mieg. He came from a widely ramified Mieg family , originally from Strasbourg . On November 6, 1746 he was enrolled at the University of Tübingen and in 1748 received a scholarship at the Tübingen monastery . He received the bachelor's degree on September 17, 1748 and finally the master's degree on November 4, 1750. From 1756 he completed his vicariate in Freudenstein . He then served as a field preacher in Württemberg from 1757 , became a deacon in Ludwigsburg in 1759 and stayed there until 1780. In that year he was given the position of special superintendent and pastor in Vaihingen an der Enz .

Mieg finally became abbot and general superintendent of Maulbronn in 1788 . Later he was also led as a prelate and ducal councilor. From 1797 he was a member of the parliament of the old Württemberg estates . He died in office and was buried in the Maulbronn monastery church.

The Johann Christoph Ludwig Mieg family register , which was created between 1753 and 1760, is kept in the University Library of Tübingen .

The Württemberg real senior government councilor Johann Friedrich Ludwig von Mieg (1773-1822), successively senior bailiff for Heidenheim , Tübingen and Ludwigsburg , was his son. The ballistic scientist Armand Mieg was his great-grandson.
