Johann Eberhard (physician)
Johann Eberhard (born January 7, 1578 in Greifswald ; † October 13, 1630 there ) was a German medic.
Johann Eberhard came from Greifswald and studied medicine here, in Rostock and in Basel . He then went on a study trip to Venice, Padua and Basel and received his doctorate in Basel in 1611. He then practiced as a doctor in Schwerin and Wismar until he became city doctor in Greifswald in 1616. A year later he became a professor of medicine at his home university . In October 1630 Johann Eberhard was killed by imperial soldiers who broke into his apartment.
Eberhard married Katharina Gertrude Tiede (1595–1667) on February 21, 1614 in the Marienkirche in Rostock .
