Johann Ehrenreich von Dehrmann (born February 26, 1728 in Mieckrow near Teterow , † March 11, 1809 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were the resident Hans Dehrmann and his wife Anna, née Bargraht.

Military career

In 1752 Dehrmann became a hussar in the von Zieten hussar regiment . During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battle near Hartmanndorf, Neukahlen (Mecklenburg) and in the battles near Kunersdorf and Freiberg . In the latter he was wounded. When the "von Ruesch" hussar regiment was reformed in 1760, he joined the regiment as a sergeant. Already on March 11, 1760 he became a cornet , on March 12, 1761 Prime Lieutenant and on August 6, 1761 staff assistant master .

After the war, Dehrmann rose to Rittmeister and squadron chief on March 3, 1771 . On April 15, 1777 he became major and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . He fought in the battle near Gabel and received the order Pour le Mérite on August 6, 1778 and on February 17, 1778 the elevation to the hereditary Prussian nobility . He made 700 prisoners, a colonel, a major and other officers, as well as two flags.

On May 26, 1787 he was appointed lieutenant colonel and on February 11, 1788 commander of the hussar regiment "von Wolffradt" . On May 25, 1789 he became a colonel and took part in the First Coalition War against France. On January 3, 1794, he was promoted to major general before his on 3 March 1794 resignation of pension received. He died on March 11, 1809 in Berlin and was buried on March 14, 1809 in the garrison cemetery.

He married on June 11, 1766 in Stolp Helene Katharina Schultz (* 1736; † November 6, 1805), daughter of a postal secretary. The couple had several children including:
