Johann Frerking
Johann Frerking (pseudonym Jan Brodersen ) (born August 19, 1884 in Hanover ; † July 13, 1971 there ) was a German literary and theater critic and writer .
Life
Born as the son of Wilhelm Frerking , Johann Frerking studied German , history and art history in Göttingen from 1902 after attending the Ratsgymnasium in Hanover . During his studies in 1902 he became a member of the Alemannia Göttingen fraternity . After he had already published articles in the Hannoversche Tageblatt as a schoolboy , he worked as a journalist for the Rheinisch-Westfälische Zeitung in Essen from 1912 to 1914 . In the First World War he took part from 1914 to 1918, first as a volunteer , later as a lieutenant and company commander ; he was wounded in the face. From 1918 he lived in Hanover and was active in the art and culture scene, where he promoted young talent. In 1918 he was a member of the Revolutionary Art Committee . From 1923 to 1926 he worked as a dramaturge at the municipal theaters . He was a member of the Kestner Society and Paul Steegemann's literary circle .
He wrote for the Hannoversche Kurier , the magazine Niedersachsen , the papers Die Pille , Marstall , Störtekäker , Der Zollmann and Das Hohe Ufer . After the Second World War , he wrote from 1949 as a literary and theater critic in the Hannoversche Zeitung and the Hannoversche Neuesten Nachrichten . He was involved as a member of the Goethe Society .
