Count Johann III. von Oldenburg (documented 1302 - 1342 ) was Count of Oldenburg . He was the second son of Count Johann II from his first marriage to Elisabeth von Braunschweig-Lüneburg .

Life

Johann III. from 1316 shared his rule with his brother Christian IV (documented 1302–1323) and from 1324 with his half-brother Konrad I (documented 1313–1347). Around 1330 he temporarily took over the custodial rule in the county of Stotel . On his order, the raster of the illuminated manuscript of the Sachsenspiegel, which was completed in 1336, testifies to the Count's interest in jurisdiction on a solid basis.
