Johann Jakob Sonderegger

Johann Jakob Sonderegger (born February 11, 1838 in Trogen , † April 24, 1905 in Herisau ; resident in Rehetobel ;) was a Swiss educator , mayor , cantonal councilor , government councilor and national councilor from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Johann Jakob Sonderegger was a son of Michael Sonderegger, Sattler , and Katharina Fiedler. In 1861 he married Johanna Grunholzer, daughter of Johann Ulrich Grunholzer . He entered into a second marriage with Anna Zwicky, daughter of Samuel Zwicky, landlord and presumably Glarus government councilor. He completed a degree in mathematics and science in Basel . In 1857 he attended the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe . In 1860 he acquired the real teacher patent. From 1859 to 1863 he worked as a teacher at the Gais seminary . From 1863 to 1871 he taught at the Herisau secondary school and was director of the Herisau gas works. In 1871 he founded a goods engineering company . He headed this until 1903. From 1873 to 1881 he sat on the local council. From 1883 to 1887 he was Herisauer community Captain . From 1877 to 1887 and from 1898 to 1900 free-thinking Ausserrhoder Cantonal Council. From 1887 to 1898 he served as a councilor. From 1892 to 1895 he was head of this as Landammann . From 1896 to 1905 he was a radical democratic national councilor. Among other things, he sat on the board of directors of the Kantonalbank from 1892 to 1900 . He presides over it from 1894 to 1897. From 1883 to 1895 he was a member of the Evangelical Synod .
