Johann Joseph von Hann (* 1763 in Neuzelle ; † 1830 ) was a royal Saxon general of the cavalry .

Life

He came from a family of the imperial nobility (since 1752). As a colonel in the Royal Saxon Army, he was seriously wounded in 1813 during the sixth coalition war against France (1812-1814) near Kalisch in what is now Poland and was taken prisoner by Russia.

In 1820 he rose to major general in the Royal Saxon cavalry .

He married the widow Christiana Carolina Elisabeth Verw. Wihard born Herrmann zu Martinskirchen , who had been hereditary, feudal and court mistress of Colochau since May 25, 1802 . The purchase price of the property was 36,000 thalers.

The two sons Hermann Franz Joseph von Hann and Otto Rudolph Bruno von Hann emerged from their marriage.

Hermann Franz Joseph von Hann (* 1807 ; † April 4, 1849 in Dresden ) became Portepeejunker and Sousleutnant in 1825 , Premier Lieutenant in 1832 and Rittmeister in the Prince Ernst Light Rider Regiment in 1834 . His tomb in the Old Catholic Cemetery in Dresden-Friedrichstadt is a base with an oval inscription plaque and a stone helmet. It was the grave of his mother's first husband, Johann Friedrich Wihard, who died on September 17, 1802, whose name can still be seen on the back of the base.
