Johann Ludwig Faber
Johann Ludwig Faber (* 1635 in Hersbruck ; † November 28, 1678 in Nuremberg ) was a German hymn poet .
Life
The son of a pastor first studied at the elementary school in Hersbruck. After four years at a grammar school in Nuremberg, he studied in Altdorf near Nuremberg , Tübingen and Heidelberg . In 1657 he became vice rector and in 1664 rector of a school in Öttingen . In 1670 Faber took over a position as a teacher at the Aegidianum in Nuremberg, which he held until his death. In the same year that he was rector, he became a member of the Pegnese Order of Shepherds and Flowers ; In 1669 Johann Faber was crowned by Sigmund von Birken with the poet's laurel. Faber died poor and left seven children, including Samuel Faber and Georg Benedikt Faber .
