Life

The son of the hut owner Georg Benedikt von Poschinger studied at the University of Landshut and became a member of the Corps Bavaria Landshut around 1813 . On August 16, 1860, the hollow glass factory in Oberfrauenau, the so-called Neuhütte , burned down , causing great damage. On April 1, 1861, he acquired the broken glassworks in Theresienthal with all properties and glass supplies from the royal bank in Nuremberg for 32,000 guilders.

In October 1863 Johann Michael von Poschinger died in a stagecoach accident . He came from Frankfurt am Main with his son Nepomuk and made one last stop in Regen. Ten paces from the post office, the front wheel unraveled and the car fell over, breaking Poschinger's neck. The body was picked up the next day and taken to the estate in Oberfrauenau. He left a fortune of well over two million guilders.
