Johann Stadler (* 1804 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † February 5, 1859 in Vienna ) was an Austrian portrait painter and lithographer.

Stadler studied from June 6, 1828 in the history painting class at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich .

After graduating, he settled in Vienna and stayed there for life. He mainly dealt with portrait lithography.

Stadler often worked with Adolf Dauthage and Franz Josef Sandmann . His lithographs were mostly published by the art dealer Leopold Theodor Neumann.

He also created lithographs based on models by other artists, such as Franz Xaver Winterhalter , August Prinzhofer , Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller , Anton Einsle and Friedrich Treml .
