Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner (* 1702 in Ebbs , Tyrol, † 7. September 1761 in Augsburg ) was an Austrian - German rococo - painter .

Life

Was born Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner in Tyrol and he learned in Salzburg , the glass painting . After he moved his sphere of activity to Bavarian Swabia , he was added to the Augsburg School .

The ceiling painting in the pilgrimage church of the Holy Cross of the former Bergen monastery is regarded as the largest and most important work by Baumgartner .
