Johanna Regnath

R. Johanna Regnath (* 1968 in Eichstätt ) is a German historian and managing director of the Alemannic Institute in Freiburg i.Br.

Life

Johanna Regnath studied history, German and Italian in Würzburg , Tübingen and Pisa , as well as social studies and empirical cultural studies . From 1996 to 2006 she worked as a freelancer. a. for the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and the State Archives Baden-Württemberg . Her main research interests are state history in Baden-Württemberg as well as agricultural and economic history. Since 2006 Regnath has been managing director of the Alemannic Institute Freiburg i.Br. eV In 2008 she published her doctoral thesis on The Pig in the Forest at the Institute for Historical Regional Studies at the University of Tübingen . Premodern pig farming between rule structures, class order and subsistence economy .

Regnath is a board member of Women & History Baden-Württemberg . In 2014 she was elected to represent Germany in the six-member Comité trinational of the network of historical societies on the Upper Rhine .

Honors

In 2009 she was awarded the Gustav Schwab Prize for her doctoral thesis .
