Johannes Möhrle
Johannes Möhrle (born February 22, 1931 in Frankfurt am Main ; † before April 24, 2017 in Bad Homburg ) was a German architect , construction clerk and university professor .
Life
The family was made homeless by the air raids on Frankfurt am Main in 1944 and found accommodation in Bad Homburg. After graduating from the Kaiserin-Friedrich-Gymnasium , Möhrle studied at the Technical University of Darmstadt with Theo Pabst .
In 1957 he began a legal traineeship at the Oberpostdirektion Frankfurt ; as early as 1959 he passed the 2nd state examination for building assessor with the grade “very good”. After a short period of self-employment, he continued his career in the building management of the Deutsche Bundespost from 1961 , where he rose to the ministerial councilor in the Ministry for Post and Telecommunications .
Möhrle attached particular importance to the illustration of his building projects using artistic freehand drawings and watercolors , especially on the basis of perspectives with a precisely constructed central projection . Since the 1960s he has taught architectural drawing as a lecturer or honorary professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Well-known works by Möhrle are the Frankfurt telecommunications tower and the main post office in Marburg , which was listed as a historical monument in 2007, in the formal language of brutalism .
