Johannes Preisinger

Johannes Preisinger (* 1939 ) is a former German diplomat who, among other things, was the first German ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina .

Life

Preisinger completed after high school to study political science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich . There he laid his 1975 promotion to Dr. rer. pole. with a dissertation with the title The international space cooperation: a political-scientific investigation of the options of the FRG in the international cooperation in the area of ​​the space flight with special consideration of the communication by satellite .

After joining the foreign service and completing the career test for the higher service, he found employment in the Central Office of the Foreign Office in Bonn and at various missions abroad , particularly in Japan and other Asian countries .

Preisinger became the first ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1, 1994 after the establishment of diplomatic relations . During this time, measures were also taken to provide economic support and the creation of infrastructure, but also to assess the situation of the various population groups. In 1997 he was replaced as ambassador by Hennecke Graf von Bassewitz .

After an interim assignment in the Foreign Office in Berlin , Preisinger became head of the Consulate General in Osaka - Kobe responsible for the Kansai metropolitan region and was retired when he reached the age limit in 2004.

After his retirement, Preisinger worked as a lecturer at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and gave lectures on political topics such as Reims versus Yasukuni: Regional Reconciliation in Europe and Asia on May 19, 2009 at the East Asia Institute of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf or are the Americans flying out of Okinawa?
