Gerhard Füßl

Gerhard Füßl (* 13. November 1968 in Mondsee ) is an Austrian trombone player and music teacher.

Career

Füßl grew up in Oberhofen am Irrsee and graduated from BORG Neumarkt am Wallersee . He learned the tenor horn and trombone from his father Franz, who was Kapellmeister of the Trachtenmusikkapelle Oberhofen for 17 years (1971–1988).

Gerhard Füßl studied from 1988 to 1994 at the Music University of Vienna with Horst Küblböck, the trombone concert and instrumental pedagogy. During his studies he played with various orchestras ( Wiener Symphoniker , Camerata Academica , Wiener Volksoper and others). Until 1994 he was a member of the Vienna Trombone Ensemble , from 1992 to 2000 he played in the group Die Tanzgeiger , with which he also released a record. Gerhard Füßl has been a member of Mnozil Brass since 1993 . He is also on albums with the Concentus musicus ( Missa brevis ), with Rudolf Pietsch, the Jeunesse Orchestra Vienna and the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra Project by Christian Kolonovits .

Since 1995 Füßl has been teaching at the Upper Austrian Regional Music School and at the Salzburg Music School. From 1998 to 2002 he was branch manager of the music school in Straßwalchen . In 2002 Füßl received a teaching position for cross-over / new folk music at the Mozarteum Salzburg . He is a popular speaker in workshops.

Füßl conductor of the ensemble "Brass & Percussion" the Trachtenmusikkapelle Neumarkt am Wallersee and took on 26 February 2016 at the state competition primalamusica in the "Chamber Music in open cast III" a 1st prize with authorization to participate in the national competition, in which a 2 Price could be achieved.

Füßl lives in Oberhofen, he is married and has three children from his first marriage.
