Johannes Vilhelm Christian Steen (born July 22, 1827 in Christiania , † April 1, 1906 in Voss (Norway) ) was a Norwegian politician of the liberal party Venstre .

Steen became a member of the Norwegian Parliament in Storting in 1859 , served as President of Odelsting from 1871 to 1873 and from 1877 to 1881, and as President of Parliament from 1881 to 1888 and from 1895 to 1898. Finally, he was Norwegian Prime Minister from 1891 to 1893 and again from 1898 to 1902.

From 1901 until his death, Steen was a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee . He was the bearer of the Order of Saint Olav (Grand Cross).
