Johannes Willms (born May 25, 1948 in Würzburg ) is a German historian and publicist .

Life

Johannes Willms grew up in Karlsruhe . His father Günther Willms was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe. After graduating from Bismarck-Gymnasium Karlsruhe , he studied classical philology , history , art history and political science in Vienna , Seville and at the University of Heidelberg . In 1975 he did his doctorate with Reinhart Koselleck in Heidelberg.
