Johannes von Wallenrode (* around 1370 in Wasserknoden ; † May 28, 1419 in Alken near Liège ) was a knight in the Teutonic Order and in the course of his career as a clergyman also Archbishop of Riga as John V (1393-1418) and Bishop of Liège as John VII (1418-1419).

Johannes von Wallenrode is also mentioned in historiography as Johann and as von Wallenrodt. The von Wallenrode family was a Frankish knight dynasty with small estates in Upper Franconia. But it gained great influence through the Teutonic Order. The most famous person was Konrad von Wallenrode , an uncle of Johannes. His grave is in the Cathedral of St. Lambert in Liège .

The situation in Riga was marked by tensions between the Archdiocese and the Teutonic Order and the efforts of the Teutonic Order to expand its influence over Poland and Lithuania . Johannes von Wallenrode appeared several times as a financier for the Wittelsbach family . In diplomatic functions he was a. a. commissioned with trips to Italy. At the Council of Constance , he was one of six members of the Germanic council nation and in the election of Pope Martin V. involved.
