John Bonaventure Kwofie

John Bonaventure Kwofie CSSp (born April 26, 1958 in Powa , Ghana ) is a Ghanaian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Accra .

Life

John Bonaventure Kwofie joined the Congregation of the Holy Ghost in and put on 2 August 1987, the vows from. On July 23, 1988, he received the sacrament of ordination in Kumasi . He then worked as a parish priest. From 2002 to 2004 Kwofie was Provincial of the Spiritans in West Africa.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Sekondi-Takoradi on July 3, 2014 . He received his episcopal ordination on September 13 of the same year from Cardinal Peter Turkson . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich , and the Archbishop of Cape Coast , Matthias Kobena Nketsiah .

On January 2, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Accra. The inauguration took place on March 1 of the same year.
