John Dennis Corriveau OFMCap (born July 27, 1941 in Zurich ) is a Canadian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Nelson .

Life

John Dennis Corriveau joined the religious order of the Capuchin in and received on 23 October 1965, the priestly ordination . From 1994-2006 he was Minister General of the Capuchin Order.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Nelson on November 30, 2007 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Canada , Luigi Ventura , donated him the episcopal ordination on January 30 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Raymond Roussin SM , Archbishop of Vancouver , and Eugene Jerome Cooney , Former Bishop of Nelson. As a motto he chose Pacificans per sanguinem crucis eius .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on February 13, 2018.
