José Gislon OFMCap (born February 23, 1957 in Ibirama ) is a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Caxias do Sul .

Life

José Gislon joined the religious order of the Capuchins , made his profession on October 17, 1980 and was ordained a priest on May 28, 1988 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Erexim on June 6, 2012 . The Archbishop of Londrina , Orlando Brandes , ordained him episcopal on August 3rd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Mário Marquez OFMCap, Bishop of Joaçaba , and his predecessor Girônimo Zanandréa .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Caxias do Sul on June 26, 2019. The inauguration took place on September 8th of the same year.
