John Goldwyn (born August 10, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film producer .

life and career

John Goldwyn was born in Los Angeles, California, in August 1958. He is the son of film producer Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and his wife, film and stage actress, Jennifer Howard . He has two brothers, director and actor Tony Goldwyn and Francis Goldwyn. His paternal grandparents were Academy Award winner Samuel Goldwyn and actress Frances Howard . His maternal grandparents were Sidney Howard , among others the screenwriter of Gone With the Wind , and the actress Clare Eames .

In 1985 he was involved as executive producer on the second part of the Police Academy film series, Police Academy - Dumber Than The Police Allowed . It wasn't until 2007 that he produced his first feature film, I'm Not There , a biography about Bob Dylan . In the same year he was involved with Lorne Michaels as a producer on the comedy film Hot Rod - With full throttle through hell . The film comedies Baby Mama (2008), MacGruber (2009) and Unterwegs mit Mum (2012) followed. From 2006 to the end of the series in 2013, he was involved as an executive producer on the television series Dexter . In 2013, the fantasy film The Amazing Life of Walter Mitty by and with Ben Stiller was released , which Goldwyn produced alongside Stiller as one of four producers.

In December 1991, Goldwyn was named President of Production for Paramount's Motion Picture Group. In 1997 Goldwyn aspired to the then new post of "President, Motion Pictures" and ultimately signed a five-year contract. Goldwyn and his ex-wife Colleen Camp have a daughter together. On April 30, 2011, Goldwyn and hotelier Jeffrey Michael Klein celebrated their public partnership at a ceremony in Marshall , California. Goldwyn's daughter was the maid of honor .
