John Lee Hiong Fun-Yit Yaw (born October 5, 1933 in Jesselton , British North Borneo , Malaysia ) is Archbishop Emeritus of Kota Kinabalu .

Life

John Lee Hiong Fun-Yit Yaw was ordained a priest on December 27, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kota Kinabalu on March 30, 1987. The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Kuching , Peter Chung Hoan Ting , on June 26th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Anthony Soter Fernandez , Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur , and Gregory Yong Sooi Ngean , Archbishop of Singapore .

With the elevation to the archbishopric on May 23, 2008 he was appointed Archbishop of Kota Kinabalu.

On December 1, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
