Jonas Nordquist (born April 26, 1982 in Leksand ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was last under contract with the EC KAC in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League . In the Svenska Hockeyligan he played for Brynäs IF , Frölunda HC and Luleå HF for many years .
Career
Jonas Nordquist began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth of Leksands IF , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 1999/2000 season . Since he remained pointless and punished in three games. In the following season, the attacker rose with his team in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan , in which he scored eleven points in 32 games in the 2001/02 season. He then moved to their league rivals Rögle BK for a year before the left shooter was on the ice for Luleå HF in the Elitserien from 2003 to 2006 .
In the summer of 2006, Nordquist was appointed to North America by the Chicago Blackhawks , who had already selected him in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the second round as the 49th player . In the 2006/07 season , the Swede ran for the first time in the National Hockey League . He gave two templates in three games. The rest of the season he spent, however, with Chicago's farm team from the American Hockey League , the Norfolk Admirals . For the 2007/08 season , the 2006 World Champion returned to Sweden, where he received a contract with Frölunda HC . For this he completed two seasons before Nordquist was committed to the 2009/10 season by league rivals Brynäs IF .
International
For Sweden , Nordquist took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 1999 and 2000 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2001 and 2002 . He was also in Sweden's squad for the 2006 World Cup .
